SLAVERY IS NOT DEAD
Justice and Peace at St Mel's is looking ahead to March, the month set aside to address the on-going world wide and lucrative practice of human trafficking.Trafficking in human beings is estimated to be a $9 billion dollar business, larger than it has ever been in the history of man. It is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world and is tied with the illegal arms industry as the second largest, after the drug-trade.
What can you do to help limit human trafficking? Become aware in your own community of signs and report to: 1-888-key-2-FREEDOM. Go to http://castla.org/ and Community Coalition against Human Trafficking http://www.ccaht.org/CCAHTvid.html
